QLD Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Large Hail, Heavy Rain, Damaging Winds

For people in parts of the Gulf Country, Northwest, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Gulf Country and Northwest districts. Locations which may be affected include Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Burketown, Mornington Island, Normanton and Camooweal.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Toowoomba, Dalby, Roma, St George and Ipswich.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, Quilpie, Eromanga, Mt Howitt Station and Barringun.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
