QLD Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Heavy Rain, Damaging Winds

For people in parts of the
Wide Bay and Burnett,
Darling Downs and Granite Belt and
Southeast Coast Forecast Districts.

Issued at 4:00 pm Thursday, 26 March 2015.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Toowoomba, Dalby, Ipswich, Boonah and Oakey.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

For people in the Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Toowoomba, Dalby, Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi and Charleville.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Southeast Coast district. Locations which may be affected include Brisbane, Moreton Bay and islands and Beenleigh.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
