Queensland MP Michael Johnson says he would "romp in" to victory in any legal challenge against the Liberal National Party's decision to expel him.
Sixteen members of the Queensland LNP executive unanimously decided to boot Mr Johnson out of the party because he'd brought it into disrepute.
But that doesn't mean they've seen the last of the controversial MP.
The LNP could face off against it's former member in court.
"My legal advice is if I wanted to challenge the decision I'd romp in," Mr Johnson told AAP on Thursday night. "I just don't have the personal funds to pay lawyers upfront."
The 40-year-old barrister said only half the ordinary members of the state executive were present at Thursday's meeting.
"When you're talking about the expulsion of a federal MP, you'd think you'd want to have every state executive member there," Mr Johnson said.
"I'll be considering all options available to me. I don't want to rule anything in or out."
The former opposition whip was expelled for allegedly attempting to secure a $12 million-plus commission from a coal contract he tried to negotiate.

COMMENT: Michael Johnson would have two chances of winning a court appeal against his
unanimous dumping from the Liberal National Party in Queensland - Buckley's and none. Perhaps,
he would be better off to head back to Hong Kong and do some serious navel gazing and contemplate
what went wrong over the past nine years over his inconspicuous presence in Federal Parliament!
