Truck still stuck at Goodna as police question truckie

PIC: Semi-trailer stuck at Goodna underpass

Police are questioning a truck driver whose semi-trailer became wedged between two bridges at Goodna earlier this morning.

The vehicle which was carrying a shipping container scraped the Ipswich Motorway underpass at Layard Street and was unable to negotiate the 3.8 metre railway underpass.

It could not go forward or backwards.

Police have just directed the driver to manoeuvre the vehicle onto a narrow track between the Motorway and the Ipswich Railway Line.

It is understood a crane is being brought in to remove the shipping container from the semi-trailer.

Peak hour traffic was severely disrupted  at the on and off ramps to the Ipswich Motorway at Goodna as a result of this morning's incident which is still causing traffic disruption near the Goodna Railway Station.
