Deregistered Queensland doctor report looms

ABC.net.au

Queensland Health says a report will be ready by the end of the year on a deregistered doctor who formerly worked at a central Queensland hospital.

Queensland Health's investigation into Dr John Chibanda began after he was suspended in November last year.

He had been working at the Emerald hospital, west of Rockhampton, in central Queensland.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Health says three full-time and numerous part-time staff were involved in researching, investigating and compiling information for the report.

She says it will focus on a number of issues including patient safety, conduct and supervision.

Queensland Health says the Medical Board of Queensland ceased Dr Chibanda's registration in March this year.
