Southeast QLD Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Large Hail, Flash Flooding, Damaging Winds

For people in parts of the
BRISBANE CITY,
LOGAN CITY,
IPSWICH CITY and
REDLAND Council Areas.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:45 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Logan City, Woodridge and Sunnybank Hills. These thunderstorms are slow moving. They are forecast to affect Mount Cotton by 5:15 pm and Greenbank, Redbank Plains, Victoria Point, Archerfield, Slacks Creek and Tingalpa Reservoir by 5:45 pm.

Damaging winds, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.

Stretton has reported 48mm since 3:45pm EST.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
